Come on, only FIVE STARS? Hopefully my review will at least put the shine on them. My hot water heater suddenly stopped heating and I realized the pilot light was out. PG&E sent a tech to re-light it. When that failed he noted the thin pilot tube was clogged, and no amount of air pressure could unclog it. Not an easy part to replace, and the heater was 10 years old. So I called around and was referred to Steve Tinetti, owner/operator of Maverick Heating and Plumbing. Full stop! Steve came out in a flash, and after verifying the problem he removed the carcass and installed a beautiful new heater–and it was done! He gave the most professional technical and personal service I’ve had since–I can’t think back that far. This U.S. Marine Veteran has carried exemplary service to nation right to his community. Lucky for me it’s this one. And I have hot water again, with only one brutal cold shower to get there. Steve, my deepest gratitude and very best salute to you!

Steve with Maverick Water Heaters came out to my home several times to try and repair my very old (obsolete) tankless water heater. He was very friendly and professional and did everything possible to try and repair the heater before recommending a replacement. Once it was determined that a new heater was needed, he ordered it and then came to my home immediately to do the installation once the heater was available. He completed the job in a timely manner and we were very happy with his service.

We had 5 different quotes about replacing our water heater when it suddenly died on us and not only was Maverick Water Heaters one of the fairer prices, the service was amazing! We got a fairly accurate quote over the phone, he told me all of the fees up front, he sent me a detailed estimate via text right away, and was able to come the next day. Installation and removal was done easily in a couple hours and I just felt comfortable the whole time he was in the house. My husband got all his questions answered and even learned how to flush out the water heater. I would totally recommend him and actually already have to a friend!

Above and Beyond 5-Star. Water heater replacement for tenants at my CEO boss’s coastal rental property required high standards. I did the due diligence, made a LOT of phone calls to get estimates and referrals. After receiving astronomical bids from local plumbers decided to focus on water heater contractors. Maverick was the first and last contacted due to professional first impression, excellent and expedient communications, stellar reviews, availability and very fair pricing. I really liked that Steve is independent vs. franchise owned. It seemed too good to be true so verified his license with CA State, yes he was listed.
Install was scheduled for Monday but when tenants called frantic that the leak was escalating, Steve responded by bumping install date up to Saturday.
Today was install day. Steve was dependable, timely and got to work immediately. The Above and Beyond was deserved for first draining/uninstall defective unit, transporting it to Home Depot for warranty exchange then delivering replacement unit back to residence. I inadvertently selected the wrong replacement unit, Steve had to turn around to Home Depot and again go through the return process.
Steve takes pride in his work, it is clear due to his experience and licensed status he wants to get the job done to code and right. He re-routed the piping to outside and leveled the water heater with shims at no extra charge. I love meticulous attention to detail. It’s no wonder when I asked about Diamond Certification sticker on his van he informed me his previous employer was Diamond Certified, more affirmation of experience under highest standards.
It feels good to know the time invested to research during selection process paid off and a good decision was made.
BONUS: His sidekick is his young Welsh Springer Spaniel named Sam, just adorable.

Steve was timely and quick with replacing my water heater and was very responsive when I messaged him. He also provided great suggestions and options for my water heater replacement and streamlined the bayren rebates process for me. Highly recommended. Steve spent time with me on the phone educating me about the pros and cons of tankless and heat pump water heaters. He followed up quickly with a competitive estimate after visiting my home. Steve replaced one gas heater for me as well as a heat pump to replace a second gas water heater in my house. Both installs went without a hitch–so far so good.

Steve Tinetti, owner of Maverick Water Heaters, is terrific! During the big storm the first week of January this year, our power went out and our tank water heater blew. Painful. We had been thinking about the tankless option for some time so we called Steve about 5:00pm and explained the situation. We talked it through and he came to our home the following morning at 9:00am to assess the situation. Despite being a more complicated installation than most, he said he could do it right away (I think he actually took personal pride in taking on the challenge). Steve bought the tankless water heater we wanted (higher end) and got to work. By 6:00pm that day we had instant hot water (within 24 hours of our initial call). He came back the next morning for a couple hours to finish up the complete installation and we were good to go. I can’t say enough about Steve and his high quality, efficient, and professional service. He is a long time Coastside local, independent business owner/operator, and one man show. He explained everything clearly and in detail. He did a superb job and I know this wasn’t easy. The heater is in the garage up high on a loft and on the side opposite where the air vent needed to be routed. Yet he made it work and did so very quickly. And, he’s just a good guy. A couple months later, we are thrilled with our tankless water heater. We are very glad we made the switch and feel very fortunate that we found Steve. I highly recommend him without reservation.

Steve is an extraordinary person. He has a can-do attitude, reliable, hard working and fair. Must be his Marine training. He has exceeded every expectation and checks back to see that things are working satisfactory. He is very congenial and his dog Sam is well behaved and welcomed companion.
